Welcome to the Island. You Are NOT a Lead.
The Good Luck Island Collective was created to be a place to learn, explore, ask questions, challenge conventional thinking, and figure some stuff out — without wondering who is waiting around the corner to sell you something.
So, let’s make something very clear:
We don’t want your financial planning or investment management business here.
Yep. I said it.
I’m a financial advisor and financial planner in my other professional life. But not here.
The Good Luck Island Collective is an educational community. It is not a prospecting system for my financial planning practice, and participating in the Collective does not put you into some secret sales funnel.
Our Promise to You
When you visit the Good Luck Island Collective, participate in our educational programs, complete assessments, join the community, or share your contact information with us:
- We will not solicit you for financial planning or investment management services because of your participation here.
- We will not sell your personal contact information to financial advisors, financial institutions, insurance companies, lead-generation companies, or other marketers.
- We will not turn your educational activity into a financial-services prospect list.
- We will not secretly hand you off to some mega-firm because you clicked a button, completed an assessment, or dared to learn something about retirement.
- We will clearly tell you when something is educational, sponsored, affiliated, or commercial.
In other words:
You came here to learn. You get to learn.
That shouldn’t be revolutionary.
Unfortunately, in the world of retirement information, sometimes it feels like it is.
There is an enormous financial-marketing machine built around finding people approaching retirement. Search for the wrong thing, click the wrong ad, download the wrong “free guide,” and suddenly everybody wants to become your new best friend.
I hate that kind of financial marketing.
More importantly, I don’t want it here.
I believe people deserve an opportunity to become more knowledgeable before somebody starts asking for their business.
Because an educated person can ask better questions.
They can recognize bullshit.
They can challenge assumptions.
They can understand what they actually need.
And ultimately, they can make better decisions about whom — if anyone — they choose to work with.
What About My Other Business?
For transparency, yes, I am a financial advisor/planner outside of the Good Luck Island Collective.
That professional business is separate from what we are doing here.
If someday you independently decide that you want to learn more about that business, that’s your choice. You can go looking for it.
But we’re not going to chase you off the Island.
No ambush. No lead-gen trap. No “free education” that magically becomes six phone calls from a salesperson.
You deserve at least one place where you can learn about your future without wondering who is trying to monetize your uncertainty.
What good would a safe place be if we sold you out the minute you got here?
Exactly.
Welcome to Good Luck Island.
Stay curious. Learn something. Figure out what matters to you.
We’ll leave the tackling to somebody else.
— The Island Dude ;)
Good Luck Island Collective
Privacy & No-Solicitation Policy
Effective Date: [DATE]
Last Updated: [DATE]
The Good Luck Island Collective (“GLIC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an educational community created to help individuals learn, explore, and think more deeply about retirement, lifestyle, purpose, and the decisions that may shape the next chapter of their lives.
A central principle of GLIC is simple:
You should be able to learn without becoming a financial-services sales lead.
This Privacy & No-Solicitation Policy explains how we honor that commitment, what information we may collect, how that information may be used, and the limited circumstances in which information may be shared.
1. Our No-Solicitation Commitment
Participation in the Good Luck Island Collective is not an invitation to be solicited for financial planning, investment advisory, investment management, insurance, or other financial services.
GLIC will not use an individual’s participation in our educational programs, assessments, courses, events, website, community, or other resources as a basis to initiate a solicitation for financial planning or investment advisory services.
This includes information you may provide while:
- registering for GLIC;
- completing a questionnaire or assessment;
- participating in the 7Shield process or other educational programs;
- attending a class, webinar, event, or workshop;
- downloading educational material;
- subscribing to GLIC communications;
- participating in community activities; or
- otherwise interacting with GLIC.
Learning something from us does not make you a financial-services prospect.
2. GLIC Is an Educational Community
The Good Luck Island Collective provides educational information and experiences.
Unless specifically and clearly identified otherwise, content provided through GLIC is intended for general educational purposes only and should not be considered individualized financial, investment, tax, accounting, insurance, or legal advice.
Participation in GLIC does not create an investment advisory, financial planning, fiduciary, attorney-client, accountant-client, or similar professional relationship.
Individuals should consult appropriately qualified professionals when they require advice concerning their individual circumstances.
3. Our Relationship With Financial Services
Individuals associated with GLIC, including its founder, may separately own, operate, work for, or be affiliated with businesses providing financial planning, investment advisory, or other professional services.
Those activities are separate from participation in the Good Luck Island Collective.
GLIC participation will not automatically enroll you in, refer you to, or make you a prospect of an affiliated financial-services business.
If you independently choose to learn more about an affiliated business, contact that business, or request financial services, you may do so voluntarily.
At that point, any interaction with that business will be governed by the disclosures, privacy policies, regulatory requirements, agreements, and other terms applicable to that business.
You decide whether to cross that bridge. We don’t push you across it.
4. We Do Not Sell Your Contact Information
GLIC does not sell, rent, or provide your personal contact information to financial advisors, investment firms, insurance companies, financial institutions, lead-generation companies, or other marketers for the purpose of soliciting you.
We also do not sell participation information from GLIC educational programs as financial-services leads.
This commitment applies to information such as your:
- name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- mailing address;
- registration information;
- assessment participation;
- educational interests; and
- other personally identifiable information you voluntarily provide to GLIC.
Your curiosity is not a commodity.
5. Information We May Collect
Depending upon how you interact with GLIC, we may collect information including:
Information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, account information, survey or assessment responses, event registrations, educational preferences, comments, questions, or communications with us.
Technical information, such as browser type, device information, approximate geographic information derived from an IP address, referring pages, pages visited, and similar website-use information.
Transaction information, if you purchase a course, event, membership, merchandise, or other product or service.
Communication preferences, including whether you have elected to receive newsletters, educational updates, event announcements, or other GLIC communications.
We attempt to collect only information reasonably useful for operating and improving the Good Luck Island Collective and providing the experiences, products, or services requested by our users.
6. How We May Use Information
Information collected by GLIC may be used to:
- operate and maintain our website and educational platform;
- provide requested educational content;
- administer accounts or memberships;
- provide assessments, courses, programs, and other educational experiences;
- process purchases or registrations;
- communicate about programs or services you requested;
- send newsletters or educational communications you elected to receive;
- understand how people use our educational resources;
- improve GLIC programs and content;
- maintain security and prevent fraud or misuse;
- comply with applicable laws and regulatory obligations; and
- maintain appropriate business and administrative records.
We do not use your educational participation to secretly build a financial-services prospecting list.
7. Emails and Educational Communications
If you voluntarily subscribe to a GLIC newsletter, educational series, community communication, or similar service, we may send communications related to that subscription.
Receiving educational communications from GLIC does not constitute consent to receive solicitations for financial planning or investment management services.
Where required or appropriate, GLIC communications will provide a method to unsubscribe or modify communication preferences.
Unsubscribing from optional marketing or educational emails will not prevent us from sending necessary administrative, transactional, security, or account-related communications.
8. Service Providers
Like virtually every modern website and online organization, GLIC may use outside companies to help operate its services.
These may include providers of:
- website hosting;
- email delivery;
- membership or learning platforms;
- payment processing;
- data storage;
- cybersecurity;
- website analytics;
- customer support;
- event registration; and
- other technology or administrative services.
These providers may receive or process limited information when reasonably necessary to perform services on our behalf.
Using a company to help operate GLIC is not the same thing as selling your information.
Where reasonably appropriate, we expect service providers to use information for authorized operational purposes and not to use GLIC information to independently solicit individuals for financial services.
9. Cookies, Analytics & Website Technology
The GLIC website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand website usage, improve user experience, measure engagement, maintain security, and perform analytics.
Third-party analytics or technology providers may collect certain technical information according to their own privacy practices.
Where required by applicable law, users may be provided with options regarding certain cookies or tracking technologies.
GLIC does not intentionally use website tracking technology for the purpose of identifying visitors and selling those individuals as financial-services leads.
10. Affiliates, Sponsors & Commercial Relationships
GLIC may occasionally feature products, books, educational programs, sponsors, affiliates, speakers, businesses, or other resources that we believe may be relevant to our community.
When a material commercial or affiliate relationship exists, we will seek to disclose that relationship appropriately.
Participation in GLIC does not authorize an affiliate, sponsor, financial advisor, or other third party to independently solicit you merely because you participated in a GLIC educational activity.
If you voluntarily leave GLIC to visit or interact with another company’s website, service, or platform, that company’s privacy policy and terms will govern your interaction with that company.
11. Voluntary Requests for Professional Help
There may be circumstances in which an individual specifically asks GLICfor information about finding or contacting a financial advisor, financial planner, attorney, accountant, insurance professional, or another professional.
We will not treat general participation in GLIC as such a request.
If you specifically request an introduction, referral, or connection, we may ask for your express permission before sharing personally identifiable contact information with another person or organization.
Any decision to contact, interview, hire, or engage a professional is entirely yours.
Education first. Your decision second. No ambush in between.
12. Required Disclosures
There may be limited circumstances in which GLIC is legally required to disclose information.
For example, information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request;
- protect the rights, property, or security of GLIC or others;
- investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or security threats;
- enforce applicable agreements or policies; or
- respond to another legally permissible or required circumstance.
Nothing in our no-sale or no-solicitation commitment prevents GLIC from complying with lawful obligations.
13. Business Changes
If GLIC or substantially all of its assets are ever transferred, reorganized, merged, or acquired, information maintained by GLIC may be included as part of that transaction where permitted by law.
However, our fundamental commitment is that GLIC member and participant information is not an inventory of financial-services leads to be sold.
Any successor organization receiving personal information would be expected to honor applicable privacy commitments and legal requirements associated with that information.
14. Data Security
GLIC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.
No website, electronic communication, database, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, GLIC cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted or stored electronically.
Users should also take reasonable precautions when sharing information online.
15. Data Retention
GLIC may retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, maintain appropriate records, satisfy legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, protect security, and operate the organization.
Information that is no longer reasonably required may be deleted, anonymized, or retained where permitted or required by law.
16. Your Privacy Choices
Depending upon applicable law and the nature of your relationship with GLIC, you may be able to request that we:
- update or correct certain personal information;
- remove you from optional email communications;
- provide information concerning personal information we maintain about you; or
- delete certain personal information where legally and operationally permissible.
Requests may be submitted using the contact information provided below.
We may need to verify a request before taking action.
17. Children’s Privacy
The Good Luck Island Collective is intended primarily for adults and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required for independent consent under applicable law.
If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected improperly, we will take reasonable steps to address it.
18. External Websites
GLIC may link to websites, articles, tools, organizations, or other resources operated by third parties.
A link does not mean GLIC controls that organization or its privacy practices.
Once you leave GLIC, you should review the privacy policies and terms of the website or service you choose to visit.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy & No-Solicitation Policy as GLIC evolves, technology changes, or legal requirements change.
When material changes are made, the updated policy will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Our underlying principle, however, is intended to remain simple:
You are here to learn — not to become somebody’s lead.

The Short Version
We don’t want your financial planning business here.
We don’t sell your contact information to financial-services marketers or lead generators.
We may use reputable technology and service providers to operate the Island, but that doesn’t give them permission to turn you into a financial-services lead.
If you ever want professional help, you make that decision and initiate that conversation.
Until then?
Learn. Explore. Ask better questions.
That’s what the Island is here for.
